Tours [Study]:

There is no substitute for experience of what other countries and cities do well.  In some cases just travelling as a passenger can tell you all you might want to know about service quality, reliability, cleanliness and staff attitudes achieved elsewhere.

A look “behind the scenes”, however, or a chance to talk directly to the managers of some of the world’s best public transport systems will repay the cost a study tour many times over.

In addition to the obvious benefit of learning how others do things better, a trip abroad for some of your own people can be an excellent reward for a job well done.  They will long remember all that they have seen, and start to motivate other staff with the good practices in question.

Above all, a study tour can work wonders with local politicians and other key stakeholders in getting them to understand the enormous benefits good public transport can bring to the environment and to sustainable mobility.

I have organised numerous study tours in recent years, and have a wide range of contacts in the transport undertakings of almost every city in Europe!  A four- or five-day programme need not cost a fortune – let me propose an itinerary to suit your budget and to cover the issues which may be of interest.
